Ashtanga Intensive with David Robson & Jelena Vesic

2026 | November 23 - 29

Join David and Jelena for a week of focused practice and thoughtful exploration of the Ashtanga Yoga method. This retreat offers a balanced rhythm of daily pranayama, meditation, Mysore practice, and in-depth workshops, creating space to both deepen understanding and refine the experience of practice.

Each morning begins with 45 minutes of pranayama and meditation, establishing clarity, steadiness, and breath awareness before stepping onto the mat. The week includes a mix of Led Primary Series, Mysore-style practice, and a special Moon Day stretch session, allowing practitioners to experience both guided structure and individualized learning.

Throughout the retreat, three dedicated workshops will explore key elements that underpin a stable, intelligent, and sustainable practice.

  • Suryanamaskara 101
Sun Salutations are the foundation of Ashtanga Yoga, setting the rhythm of breath and movement that carries through the entire sequence. In this workshop, David and Jelena will carefully break down each vinyasa and posture within Sun Salutations A and B. Through clear explanations and practical drills, participants will explore alignment, weight distribution, and breath coordination—revealing how small adjustments can transform a familiar sequence into a more integrated, efficient, and powerful practice.

  • Seeds of Intermediate
The groundwork for the Intermediate Series is quietly woven throughout the Primary Series. In this session, David and Jelena will highlight how elements such as spinal extension, shoulder opening, deeper backbending actions, and binding mechanics already appear in familiar postures and transitions. By recognizing these shared patterns, practitioners can better understand how the Primary Series gradually prepares the body for the greater demands of the Intermediate Series.

  • Full Tilt
Pelvic orientation plays a central role in how the spine, hips, and legs work together. Understanding when to apply an anterior or posterior tilt of the pelvis can dramatically affect the stability, depth, and safety of many postures. In this workshop, David and Jelena will explore how pelvic positioning influences spinal length, hip mobility, and balance throughout the practice, using examples from both the Primary and Intermediate Series to demonstrate how these actions can be applied with greater clarity and control.

The retreat also includes time to relax and connect, with a group outing to enjoy the beauty and culture of Bali together.

Open to practitioners of all levels, this week offers a supportive environment to refine technique, deepen understanding, and experience the practice with renewed clarity.
