Somatic coaching helps you reconnect with the intuitive wisdom within your body to find new perspectives, step out of old patterns, and make empowered choices.

If you feel disconnected from your body and desensitized to yourself and the people and world around you, somatic coaching will help you relearn how to connect with this deep well of intuition and wisdom.

It allows you to access your body’s natural intelligence and gain a new perspective when your particular way of being smart has hit a wall, and you’re stuck in old patterns of thinking and behavior.

To put it simply, somatic coaching is less about thinking your way through a problem and more about feeling your way through. It’s a ‘bottom-up’ approach rather than a ‘top-down’ way of dealing with challenges.

Somatic coaching wakes up your innate human capacity for choice. Once you are aware of what you are doing as you do it, you have the opportunity to choose among the various options of what to do and how to do it.

What’s involved in a session?

The session will start with you bringing a specific inquiry you're working with. This could be anything from relationship struggles, work stress, lack of creativity, or feeling disconnected from yourself and others. I will guide you in identifying a clear intention for our time together — whether that's cultivating more self-confidence, learning to set boundaries, tapping into decision-making wisdom, or simply getting in touch with a deeper part of yourself.

We work predominantly with your felt sense — the subtle physical sensations, intuitions, and imagery that convey insight about a situation or challenge you face. Don’t worry if you struggle to connect to your body and have no idea what ‘felt sense’ really means — we’ll figure that out together.

A session may involve talking, movement, posture, breathing, and archetypal poses to bring more embodied awareness to your patterns and to identify practices to help you develop more range and more choice for how you engage with the world. You'll leave with practical exercises and tools tailored for your individual needs and growth that become tools you can use in daily life. These practices help anchor the inner shifts, allowing you to actualize more joy, creativity, and meaning.

After just one session, you'll realize just how much possibility exists when you channel the wisdom of your whole self — body, mind, and spirit. You gain deeper self-awareness, opening the door to creating a life infused with your unique gifts. You’ll learn to trust your felt sense more and be able to make more empowered, intentional choices to live authentically, aligned with your values and rhythms, and to amplify your success and satisfaction. 

Why is Somatic Coaching different?

Embodiment, simply put, is how we are. It’s how we relate to the world and show up. It’s the way we express ourselves through our character, behavior, and posture. It’s how we are sensitive to ourselves, others, and the world around us. Embodiment is more than being in the body; it’s feeling through the body.

Embodiment is the simplest and most direct path to self-awareness, transformation, and wise action. Many of us use the body as the thing that carries our brains around, leaving a huge part of our natural intelligence out of the picture. Cognitive science shows how the body shapes all human activities: perception, relationships, the ability to speak and listen, abstract thinking and creativity, decision-making, and commitment.

Somatic coaching consciously regards the body as an insightful and untapped teacher to help us know ourselves and grow as individuals with tools to help us respond skillfully to each situation. It facilitates embodiment through exercises engaging the body and mind to promote self-awareness and change.

Coaching in this way aims to allow the conscious mind to take a step back so that we can connect with the body. This isn’t to say we ignore the mind; rather, we treat the body and mind as an integrated whole and create space for the body to speak its wisdom.

As a somatic coach, I teach embodiment practices to help you tune into your innate inner wisdom to relate to challenges in a more empowered way. I'll use my somatic toolbox to guide you.
