WORKSHOPS WITH HIRO LANDAZURI
Over the course of this weekend, begin to understand your body and find a deeper connection to yourself through a functional approach to your practice. Oftentimes in yoga, we focus on stacking our bones and creating shapes in our bodies, rather than actually focusing on what muscles are engaging and how each posture feels. Together, we will practice how to not only create beautiful shapes in our bodies and practice, but we will work on building both flexibility and strength in order to develop more mobile muscles. Take your body to the edge and discover the potential you have in a more safe, efficient, and effective way, all while finding a deeper connection with yourself, your breath, and your soul.
FUNCTIONAL FLOW | AUGUST 9 | 17:00 - 19:30
Remember what it felt like when we were beginning our yoga journey? The soreness yes, but also a freedom in our bodies that we were not used to, a lightness in our step, the glow in our being. The movements were new to our bodies and the shapes served in increasing the range of function in our bodies. If we are honest, there are a lot of poses that are relatively comfortable for us now. So how can we increase our focus and our range of function, so that we can keep moving towards a better functioning self?
This masterclass incorporates different mobility exercises within familiar poses. We will introduce different transitions that shift the mental focus from fitting into a shape to making the shape serve a greater functionality in our bodies. The goal is to bring us closer towards the freedom we seek within
INTELLIGENT INVERSIONS | AUGUST 10 | 9:00 - 11:30
Do you have that one pair of yoga pants that is your “handstand yoga pants?” The pants where every time you put them on, you feel stronger and more confident getting upside down? Don’t leave your practice up to chance! Ditch the pants and come to this class.
Experience what it’s like to fly consistently and confidently in this challenging yet light-hearted workshop. We will break down the elements of inversions as well as explore unique exercises towards helping you access the power already inside of you. Allow yourself to encounter your practice in an elevated way and feel confident in seeing the world from a new perspective, with or without your handstand pants.
DEMYSTIFYING BACKBENDS | AUGUST 10 | 13:00 -15:30
Consider the thought that if the ribs, chest and spine are all anchored together, how is the beautiful even arch in backbends achieved in the upper chest? From another perspective, when we speak to the soulful aspect of backbends, opening past our egos allows for the openness of possibility. The duality of the mind and the soul is often seen as two sides of a coin...but is it possible that the mindfulness we bring to the technicality, as well as the soul of the practice can come into harmony?
In this workshop, we will discover the different engagements, common misalignments, and inventive techniques that draw a deeper understanding of the mechanics of backbends. By demystifying the physiology, we will open up space for the soul to find its place in harmony with mindfulness.
BEND THE SPOON I AUGUST 11 I 9:00 - 11:30
We all want to give and receive love, but what we really want is to be loved for who we authentically are. When our hearts are closed, we don’t express our full self and therefore, we limit what we allow into our lives: we limit our careers, our relationships, and our love that we want to spread and share. We will reconnect with ourselves and our authenticity through opening our hearts in a flow that revolves around backbends. As we open up the front line of our body, we will embrace the power of vulnerability in our heart. As we flow through these asanas and open up, we will create a path that explores back bends in a liberating way to speak into the limitless possibilities in all areas of our lives.
MOVING MEDITATION I AUGUST 11 I 13:00 - 15:30
The purpose of our practice is to experience the unity of our mind, body and soul in a fluid and seamless flow state. For over a decade I cued “breath to movement.” After diving deeper into my meditation practice and making the breath the focus, I shifted to “movement to breath.” The physical practice became something different, it became alive, connected, and truly authentic to how I wanted to move and BE.
This workshop taps into the deeper levels of our being, getting back in touch with our natural rhythms beyond the fear of “not enough”, beyond fear of “looking different.” We will introduce creative transitions and reconnect with the inner freedom of self expression and letting go found in a moving meditation.

Hiro Landazuri connected with yoga 20 years ago to relieve his running-related injuries and was immediately drawn in by the challenging and stress relieving aspects of the practice. After alternating between a career in academia and his role as a yoga instructor, Hiro finally chose to pursue his passion of teaching yoga and hasn’t looked back since.
Hiro has since gained a following for his anatomy-focused approach to teaching. He inspires people to better understand their bodies to find a deeper connection to themselves through a functional yoga practice approach.
