Vibrant Living Yoga Teacher Training
and Yoga Alliance Certification Intensives
500-hour Level II Modules
June 10 - 24, 2011
Ubud, Bali

Are you ready to go deeper with Yoga? Are you currently teaching, and interested in taking your teaching to a more powerful and effective level? Already graduated from a teacher training and seeking to further your education? Looking for a deep and challenging immersion into yoga philosophy and technique?

Devoted to growth and learning, we`ve innovated a new approach to the timeless power of yoga - our Level II teacher training modules are geared toward the evolution of the understanding, practice and teaching of yoga, and are specifically designed to benefit those for whom yoga is already a part of life.

Our modules intelligently synthesize a blend of potent components - master teachers; focused, effective, and cutting edge teaching methodologies and learning environment; organic living foods; and the spiritual and natural beauty of Bali - to create a magical gestalt of experience. Any three of the fourteen-day modules can be combined for 500 hour Certification, and each is uniquely created as a stand-alone experience.

Each Level II training module also features a specific theme relevant to the modern yogi aspiring to greater joy in their life in a contemporary world, illustrated by a rotating team of master teachers. We highlight and explore the theme for each module through philosophy study, physical practice, and learning how to inspire those who come to us. Trainees can artfully create their own intermediate yoga education and training by selecting which modules and themes they are interested in exploring -each one unique and never to be repeated. This allows the advanced practitioner to optimize their deeper training according to interests and strengths.

Themes and faculty schedules are included below. Each of the fourteen-day Level II modules stands alone as a complete experience, and any three of them may be combined to meet the requirements for the Yoga Alliance 500 hour training (prerequisites apply). Daniel Aaron, E-RYT 500, guides each module and orchestrates the curriculum along with guest gurus in the styles of Astanga, Iyengar, Jivamukti and more.

Warning: there are prerequisites of yoga experience for these Level II modules along though more important is an attitude of genuine desire to immerse yourself in this intensive program, commitment to be present and participate to the best of your ability in all classes, an eagerness for challenge and a willingness to venture beyond your comfort zone. These attributes are absolutely necessary. In other words, if you`re only interested in the certification, a leisurely yoga retreat or holiday, or want to disrupt others or detract from the group`s momentum - this training is not for you.

Further warning: it is probable that after this training your life will not be the same. Seen from new heights, previous terrain may look or feel completely different. Some of the tools we play with include periods of introspection through silence, juice fasting, exercises in exploring inter and intrapersonal awareness, and more. The Vibrant Living Yoga Teacher Trainings are ideal for those who wish to create something new, to fly higher.

Module Theme: Integrating Philosophy Into Asana

Daniel is a caring and dedicated yogi who has experienced the fullness of the teachings and brings that fullness to all those with whom he shares.” David Life, co-founder of Jivamukti Yoga, author, master teacher.
yoga instructorAbout Vibrant Living Yoga
As the saying goes 'the truth cannot be said.' It can, however, be heard. It's inherent in each of us. It's who we are. The essence of yoga is remembering who we are.

We create conditions where the truth might be heard through challenging asana (posture), vinyasa (breath and movement), spiritual insight, pranayama (breath exercise), meditation, music, and humor.

Vibrant Living Yoga guides you to experience yourself free of false limitations and the Training empowers you to assist yoga workshopothers. Drawing on my extensive yoga practice and training (with dozens of modern masters), you will dive deeply into a spectrum of today's yogic styles, including Jivamukti, Iyengar, Astanga and more. Discover how you share yoga by learning what's come before you.

Nicki DoaneNicki Doane
Devotion to yoga and the desire to share with and give back to the world are what motivate the teaching of Maya Yoga with Nicki Doane. Yoga is spirit in action, and as Nicki teaches, she inspires people to find a place of spirit inside themselve, recognizing the profound connection between the self and spirit. Nicki has been studying yoga in India for years and has been deeply influenced by the teachings of Sri K. Pattabhi Jois and B.K.S. Iyengar. Her unique approach to vinyasa yoga strengthens all aspects of your being through dynamic structural alignment, conscious breathing, and practical yogic philosophy; helping students find the deeper life of yoga. Nicki strives to teach each student that yoga is about being fully present in the moment and discovering that we are truly all One. One Love. One People. One Heart. One Destination - Our Higher Self.

Nicki Doane had a wanderlust that led her to India in 1991 to study yoga. She went to Mysore to meet Sri K. Pattabhi Jois and immediately realized she had found her teacher. Nicki started teaching in 1992. She cites Pattabhi Jois, along with Eddie Modestini, Gabriella Giubilaro, and Tim Miller among her most influential teachers. She is an authorized teacher of Ashtanga Yoga. Although rooted in Ashtanga, Nicki's teaching goes beyond the traditional. Her vinyasa classes combine asana, pranayama, philosophy, and poetry. Nicki’s emphasis is on awareness: creating integrity within each pose that can be carried beyond the mat into daily life. Nicki teaches at yoga studios and conferences across the globe and is featured in two Ashtanga Yoga DVD’s from Gaiam Inc. and recently produced her own series of Maya Yoga DVD’s in collaboration with her husband Eddie Modestini. Nicki lives in Sebastopol, California with her husband. Together, Eddie and Nicki co-direct Maya Yoga Studios in both California and Maui, HI.

Edward Clark is the creator of Tripsichore, the London-based yoga performance group that has delighted audiences around the world. He began studying yoga in 1979. Notable among his teachers are Narayani and Giris Rabinovitch, and he also admires Ashtanga vinyasa, Sivananda, Iyengar, and Viniyoga practices. The Tripsichore group has practiced daily for the past 14 years, devising and refining its techniques for asana, pranayama, pratyahara, dharana, and dhyana. Edward fuses his keen artistic vision with a deep understanding of the essential pursuit of yoga practice. His classes are entertaining, demanding, and exhilarating.

Joshua Michaell Joshua Michaell
Joshua Michaell is a teacher of Sanskrit and Yoga Philosophy. He`s been practicing Ashtanga Yoga since 1993 and studying Sanskrit and Yoga Philosophy with Vyaas Houston since 1997. Bali
The island of the gods, Bali and her people is a culture Yoga International magazine describes as ‘living yoga.' Spirituality, harmony with nature, peacefulness - these elements embody the Balinese way of life. Ubud, an artist's Mecca, is the cultural heart of Bali. Embedded in rice terraces, temples and powerful energy, at a slight elevation so cooler than the nearby coastal heat, Ubud's climate has turned it into the perfect yogic destination.

About Gourmet Living Foods
I choose living food to enhance my life. For most of us, what we eat affects how we feel. Happily I've discovered that the healthiest food is also the best tasting. I eat the best food ever – yummy, vibrant, rejuvenating – just in case we are what we eat .

Fresh daily coconuts, tropical fruits, organic salads and raw chocolate is the ideal nourishment for the yogic lifestyle. Vibrant Living Yoga Teacher Training is happy to present you a month of Gourmet, high vibration Living Food. (Delicious cooked vegetarian food will also be available, at student’s expense).

"The Vibrant Living Yoga Teacher Training has changed my life. The experience opened my eyes to the treasures in the world of yoga. Daniel takes you on a journey of self discovery through nourishing gourmet raw food, challenging your body in asana practice, meditation, studying ancient texts, listening to modern philosophers and building a personal practice. Guest faculty brought a depth of knowledge to the training with an incredibly high level of expertise. This is a teacher training for current teachers or people new to the path of yoga. A bonus is the magical setting of mystical Bali. I will be back for future courses." -Janet Carscadden, physical therapist, Burlington, VT.

"If you want to strengthen your spiritual, physical, and philosophical yoga practice you can attend any teacher training. The Radiantly Alive yoga teacher training is just different: it is a process that you cannot believe or understand until you live it and be with it. You will have your own unique experience and it will change the way you stereotype yourself and everything around you. Beware: If you LOVE your life the way it is, and do NOT want it to change (i.e. get better) stay away." -Rebecca Hillary, science teacher/yoga teacher, Philadelphia, PA.

"You are extraordinary! If you want to become aware of it, this is what you can do: Vibrant Living Yoga Teacher Training.' Calling it a yoga teacher training wasn't really fair. It's been an education into all of life. For years I've been traveling around the world searching for something - finally now in Bali, with this 'training' I've found what I've been looking for - I've come home. Words may not have the power to express my gratitude, but nevertheless receive many thanks for what you have created for us."- Markus Gmachl, tour guide, Morocco.

“Sitting at my desk on a dull English winter day idly googling 'yoga' and 'running away from my 40th birthday' yielded some unexpected results. Four months later I emerged blinking with jetlag into the Balinese sunlight. Be prepared to physically and emotionally let go of a large quantity of toxins past. Expect to share the airy open yoga studio, set level with the swaying treetops, with butterflies, dragonflies and joyful cartwheeling swifts. Expect to be shocked at your potential. Absolutely demand to be shaken into radiant life by some of the best teachers on the planet. And fully anticipate being spat back out into your old world to find that nothing is quite the same.

I dragged my sorry carapace of misery from events of the past few years with me to Bali. And somewhere in a star-splashed night I shook it off. I danced with abandon, I laughed long and loud from the depths of my belly, I rejoiced in my own silence, listening and learning. I rediscovered my body and my creativity, I allowed my vulnerability and my tears a voice and accepted all the comfort offered, I looked without shyness into beautiful eyes and faces.oh yes, and somewhere along the line I did some yoga too and found out I could be a yoga teacher.

This stuff works. Although it couldn't stop time, I am thrilled to report that I am now 40, fabulous, and free.” - Jay Kipling, UK - writer, animal welfare campaigner, PR company director.

This is a training in how to LIVE yoga, not just do asana. I did deepen my physical practice and knowledge of yoga philosophy, but the most important (and unexpected) thing I gained is a sense that I am seeing myself and life through new, clear eyes. I'm suddenly aware of all of the unconscious habits and thought patterns that were defining (and limiting) so much of my life, and now I am more in control of them rather than the other way around. Coming back to my 'real' life after this training is like having a blank canvas before me, and I have a better sense of what I want to fill it with. My reality and sense of what's possible feels so much bigger. And I thought I was pretty happy with my life before! But be warned, there is no going back - only do this if you are ready to have your sense of reality turned upside down! -Kate Grisard, Licensed Massage Therapist, Reiki Practitioner, Washington DC

What Faculty say about their experience:
“The Radiantly Alive Teacher Training Program is unquestionably one of the most intriguing and comprehensive courses with which I've had the pleasure to be associated. It is rare for a Teacher Training to successfully endeavour to cover so many aspects of yoga training. However, the Radiantly Alive people address meditation, pranayama, philosophy and nutrition as seriously as they do asana. All these subjects are delivered by teachers who are top notch in both skill and reputation. Indeed, it is as stimulating for the teachers to be exchanging ideas with each other as it is for the students on the receiving end of the instruction. The effectiveness of the training is further enhanced by the beauty and seclusion of the venue. It is hard to imagine how this singular training could be bettered, but, as the organizers are dedicated to constant improvement, I'm sure they'll find a way.” -Edward Clark, founder of Tripsichore Yoga Theatre, London

“I had a fabulous experience that I will remember for the rest of my life. It’s a brilliant idea for students to be introduced to numerous paths of yoga over the month. I predict it will keep growing over the years and I hope to be continually involved – I will recommend it whenever I get the chance.” - David Williams, first non-Indian to learn entire Ashtanga from Pattabhi Jois, Maui, HI.

“Daniel Aaron is the most professional, organized and conscientious person I have ever had the pleasure to work with. His yoga teacher training is a huge gift to anyone who gets to be involved. Daniel is an amazing teacher, and his classes are the best I've ever taken. He is exceptionally thorough, present, available and grounded, which proves his teachings are coming from a deep, centered source. From the beginning to the end of the workshop he brings a passion, vibrancy and true commitment to helping his students to have a transformational experience. This is truly groundbreaking, expansion based work and I am honored and blessed to be a part of such a revolutionary project.” -Elaina Love, author, chef, teacher, restaurateur, San Francisco, CA

“I teach in many programs and trainings around the world. What’s happening here is very special. The combination of elements that Daniel’s put together, from the beauty of the nature here and the villas, the food, you all living together, it’s powerful. I seldom see a group so present and focused as this. You should consider yourselves very lucky.” -Govinda Kai, advanced Astanga yoga teacher, Tokyo, Japan
