Radiantly Alive April 2008 Newsletter
Greetings,
In
Bali, autumn has arrived. Nights are cooler. I huddle below the
blankets, bundle in a jacket when riding on the motorbike. Friends who
visit from other lands find this ridiculous.
We are
amazing creatures, so thoroughly adaptable - whether to climate, pace
of life, health (body, mind, heart). Why not adjust ourselves to that
which helps us and those around us feel the best we can?
Here’s a challenge/suggestion. This very day choose one new element
(thought, gesture, action, word, food) that you can slip into your life
knowing it’ll increase the odds of you feeling Radiantly Alive – then
make sure you do it. Who knows what it might lead to? Today I
resuscitate the daily pleasure of noni juice. As Jim Roan said, “for
every disciplined effort, there is a multiple reward.”
May we all reward ourselves (and those around us) sweetly.

| The Satya of Relationships |
When
we investigate the Yama (restraints) and Niyama (observances) of
Patanjali’s Yoga Sutra, often we spend considerable time with Ahimsa
(non-harming), with Bramacharya (using sexual energy to move us closer
to God), with others, yet we skim over Satya. Why? Perhaps because
Satya seems straightforward, obvious – and yet, there’s more to it than
we realize....

| Astrological Tidbits: Freedom is Fun |
Our
great, jolly friend of opportunity and luck (Jupiter) just formally
locked elbows with the eclectic rebel of individualism (Uranus) and
began an interweaving dance that will last all the way through the rest
of 2008. While the energetic of this connection (a sextile, for astro
geeks) is subtle compared to some, its aid is still significant and
worthy of attention.
Here are the elements: Jupiter,
the largest planet, generally signifies expansion, opportunity, luck;
it helps us grow through new experiences. Uranus shows us where we
might be stuck and invites us (sometimes implores us) to break free, to
shake things up. Uranus always aims us toward greater autonomy,
excitement, and liberation. He favors sudden change, abhors status quo
and is never predictable. This year these two planets move in the
positive potential of the sextile relationship (60 degrees apart in the
heavens), indicating their energies are available for linkage. We have
the opportunity for easy, fun, empowering shake-ups that bring us more
energy and excitement. We can break out of ruts more easily than usual.
These two planets have been historically associated with inventions,
creativity, inspiration and genius. Likely we’ll see their vibes show
up in both political/governmental realm as well as the spiritual
(Capricorn and Pisces), and even in the area where these two overlap.
Remember, the movement of the planets indicates an energy that is
affecting all of us. Far more powerful is how that particular (and
other) symbology is operating through our individual charts (what
houses in your chart does the Jupiter Uranus sextile fall into?).
Where some astrological energetics seem to happen on their own, a
sextile is an invitation, it’s potential, and so it’s up to us to take
advantage of it. May we all be proactive in creating greater freedom,
especially in our understanding of how all beings are connected and improving our systems and structures to reflect that deeper awareness.
