Jakarta’s Fit Magazine
May issue features Daniel
as ‘Guru Yoga, yang serba bisa.’ Daniel presents
an Art of Vibrant Living seminar and Vibrant
Living Yoga class at FIT Magazine’s promotional
weekend retreat at
Anahata, May 5-7.
The full article is available
on Daniel’s site.

“Until one is committed,
there is hesitancy, the
chance to draw back-- Concerning all acts
of initiative (and creation), there is one elementary
truth that ignorance of
which kills countless
ideas and splendid plans:
that the moment one
definitely commits oneself, then Providence moves too. All sorts of things occur to help one that would never otherwise have occurred. A whole stream of events
issues from the decision, raising in one’s favor all manner of unforeseen incidents and meetings
and material assistance, which no man could have dreamed would have come
his way. Whatever you can do, or dream you can do, begin it. Boldness has
genius, power, and magic
in it. Begin it now.”

May 2006 Newsletter
When I first came to Bali I asked people ‘how do you say great?’
“Bagus” was the response.
“What about amazing?” I’d ask.
“Bagus.”
“Fantastic?”
“Bagus.” |

So if not incredibly specific, bagus is an important word for me, for those of us creating fantastic lives. I was delighted, though, when my first Indonesian language teacher, Tony, told me the words ‘luar biasa’. Biasa means usual, normal. Luar means outside. ‘luar biasa’ is outside what’s unusual, extraordinary.
Being Radiantly Alive is ‘luar biasa’. We are indeed creating lives different from what most of us learned was possible, different from what’s normal.
After the most incredible Vibrant Living Yoga Teacher Training ever (at least so far), I’m now back to my ordinary, extraordinary life in Ubud. Regular yoga classes at BaliSpirit, writing, chocolate research, moving to a new home and planning more amazing events buzz me with enthusiasm.
I hope you find inspiration here, and in all that we share, to spark you to an ever more vibrant life.

Weeks have passed since we finished the Vibrant Living Yoga Teacher Training and I’m still tingling with the excitement of what we created. It was beyond what I’d envisioned even. The most gratifying for me was to see the trainees transform, come together and come even more alive. Together we created a community. More pictures from the 2006 Yoga Teacher Training are on our site. |
The success, the fun, the trainees’ gratitude inspired Gabrielle and I to enthusiastically launch into planning. The second Vibrant Living Yoga Teacher Training will be May 20 – June 17, 2007 and will be – hard as it is to believe – way better even than the first. Details will soon be available on our website!

From the Kitchen
You’ll all be shocked to hear that we’ve branched out from chocolate desserts...into the delectable realm of SAVORY cacao. And it’s out of this world. Enjoy!
Pizza Chocolat
Cacao Cheese: 1 cup pumpkin seeds, 1 cup sunflower seeds (both soaked 8 hours), 1.5 cup peeled raw cacao (soaked 3-6 hours), 1 cup parsley, 3+ garlic cloves (to taste), 1/3 cup olive oil, 1/2 tbsp salt (to taste), of splash nama shoyu, 2 tbsp unpasteurized miso, 3 tbsp lemon juice. Optional add: carrot, celery, to make the cheese less nutty. Blend smooth in high power blender or food processor, adding water as needed.
Sundried Tomato Sauce: 8 ripe tomatoes, 1⁄2 cup sundried tomatoes (soaked 4 hours), 1/2 cup olive oil, 1 tbsp lemon juice, 3/4 tbsp celtic sea salt (to taste), big bunch of basil (100 grams), some oregano (roughly 40 leaves), fresh ground black pepper, 2 cloves garlic. Blend smooth in high power blender/food processor.
Assembly: Smother flaxseed (or other raw) crackers with cacao cheese, top sundried tomato sauce and garnish with chopped Kalamata olives, red peppers, and green onions.
For more recipes and info on cacao, see Daniel’s personal website. Would you like us to create a recipe for you? Evolve your favorite cooked dish to a raw delight? We love to play, so let us know.

| Astrology
The following tid-bit – there’s so much I could share – applies to all of us. It’s based on transits (movements of planets). A full moon is a transit: the moon is opposite the sun. Tons of transits are happening all the time and here we look at just a couple of the most important right now (and this whole year).
Jupiter, the great jolly story teller who always reminds us to expand our vision, continues dancing with both Uranus and Neptune. He stepped onto the cosmic dance floor with both of these powerful change agents back near the end of 2005 and they’ll keep spinning together until their last peak August through October 2006 and beyond.
Neptune, being the slippery realm of non-physical reality, illusion and delusion, whispers a challenge to us (through it’s 90 degree square angle with Jupiter) that it’s a fine time (as if time really exists) to write a story we like, a positive creation, one where what we see is what we value.
Astro-tech-tip: When one planet is at a particular angle (aka aspect) to another planet, the energies associated with those planets are in a relationship. The quality of the relationship is different depending on the angle. Typically sextiles and trines (60 and 120 degrees) are considered ‘easy,’ where squares and oppositions 90 and 180 degrees) are ‘difficult.’
Uranus, waltzing in the sweet grace of a trine (120 degree angle), opens the gateway to our bold, innovative inner risk-taker, the genius of surprises who suddenly breaks us into new territory.
The combination of Jupiter’s forays portends a finger-snapping illumination where we instantly see a bright new vista, a sight potentiated by our new clarity and creativity of vision (faster and better than laser surgery), and one that can show up tangibly in our life however we wish. In other words, it’s the perfect moment to create what we imagine, what we want – it’s time to rewrite our story.
Astrology is a complex art and science. Individual will is a power beyond measure. The collective energies I’ve described may be felt in all of our lives. And, as dynamic is the movement of these planets – and the other 7 planets – through the heavens, their movement through our unique birth chart is far more potent for each of us individually. Visit Daniel’s personal site for more info on astrology. |
